27. Why do nuclear processes take longer to occur when matter is moving?

The orbital period for the elliptic path taken by matter in motion is 2  times the period at rest. Nuclear decay, for example, is presumed to depend upon how many trials are taken to break apart a nuclear particle. The number of trials decreases with the particle velocity as given by 4  so that the time for disintegration increases by the factor 23 .
